Rejections before a thought !!
I was always the most disciplined student in School, College, University, when it was time to reap the fruits of all those efforts, then “No one was hiring me”.
A total of 34 rejections hit me hard and made me question what I was doing wrong. It was frustrating. No one was ready to give a chance.
I was new to #Canada, no friends, no family. I almost gave up. When you are alone, your inner voice starts talking to you. The major question which stuck with me was “What is your purpose of life ?”
I kept thinking about it for days, like every single second. I had no clue what to do to find that answer, but for that, I need to dig deep inside me.
From the very first day of my college, I knew I didn’t care if I had a good job or not, good grades or not, I would get any promotions or not, all I care is continue my efforts towards “Being a better version of myself”.
That could only be achieved by following the footsteps of my guru’s Abhinav A. Bindra OLY, and Rahul Dravid. I am following both of them since I was in my senses, and THANK GOD such people exist on this earth.
I wrote a few things down, both did when they were in such situations and thought about trying it myself.
It was my 4-month break, so I went for long meditation courses (3 days, 7 days) (if you want, you can try Vipassana Meditation), those were really hard but fruitful. I took the subjects which I always wanted to study just for learning sake (I always wanted to learn finance, I am core HR person). Again, started the newspaper (The Globe and Mail, The Wall Street Journal and The Hindu e-version), it was really fun. Adopted the time schedule of Tina Dabi (IAS) for those 4 months.
I used my official college break in 2018 for this crazy idea. I didn’t apply for a single job in that time frame, didn’t talk to any of my friends and never doubted myself for a single second in those months. I worked hard on my personal ethics rather than outside environment.
PS : Thanks Google for helping all the way 😉
Now I know what I want from my life, I wonder if I never took this path where I would be standing now ? 🤔
